Home Restoration: Structura Stability

When you do Home Restoration you need to be aware of the two SS. Structural Stability. This is critical because is the difference between a disaster and a successful job. And we are going to explain to you why.

First and foremost you need to know that every and all structures have a point where all stability is supported. If said point is damaged, or destroyed, the whole construction will, without a doubt, fall down. Normally this point is a column or a corner where two points unite. When you do restoration you need to know, either by having blueprints or by talking to the builders, where this point is located.

It is critical to understand this because if you need to make demolitions in the process you need to be sure that the parts you intend to bring down will not bring down the whole place (you have no idea how many times this has happened).

Structural Stability means that a construction will not fall and is, as its name implies, stable to sustain itself. But this depends on the critical point to be OK. Now, this is another important point. If you feel that the construction where you are working on has no structural stability you need to report this to the authorities in order to determine what actions have to be taken.

There will be cases where the construction will have to be inevitably demolished, but in this extreme cases the decision is based on the fact that people might get endangered if they try to inhabit such places.

So, don’t forget, when you do home restoration, make sure that the structure stability is confirmed or confirm it yourself.
